Team alabaster- a team dedicated to laying their lives down daily for the sake of the Kingdom. A team ready to laugh but quick to listen. A team who adores the Father. In Matthew 26, a woman approaches Jesus and pours out a whole alabaster jar full of very expensive oil. Nobody else understood why, but she was confident that Jesus was worth everything she had. My prayer for our team is that we would know the love of Christ so deeply that we could not help but drop everything to follow Him. That we would love others out of an overflow of the love He has so freely and abundantly given us. That we would pour our oil out and sit at the feet of the Lord in awe. Every day of our lives, He is worthy!!
Yesterday I was walking through Asheville, and me and one other girl stopped to talk to a homeless man. He began to share his life story with us, how he had gone to prison, fought for jobs, and fought to keep his two kids safe. They live in a tent each night, and he continued to share his heart for his children and how he longs to keep them safe. I got to tell him that just as he loves his kids so much, God loves him. And infinitely greater is the Father’s love. Every person we encounter has a story, and how beautiful is it that we get to partner with Jesus in sharing a story of eternal hope in the midst of pain. God’s heart is for us. It is for His children. His love is so much greater than we could ever fathom, and He is continuing to reveal it to me. Thank you Jesus!!!
